MoVal Opens Community Survey to Help Guide Sister City Program

The City of Moreno Valley is inviting residents to participate in a community survey to provide feedback on the City’s Sister City Program, which will be open from January 5 through February 5. The City is seeking broad community input as it evaluates the program’s level of activity and potential next steps.

Moreno Valley’s Sister City relationship with San Juan de los Lagos, Jalisco, Mexico, was established in 1993. The City last hosted a delegation from San Juan de los Lagos in February 2023.

“This program will help to foster meaningful cultural and educational exchanges between Moreno Valley and San Juan de los Lagos, said Mayor Ulises Cabrera. “We are excited to see these two communities cement a bond and kinship in the coming years, and enhanced even further by the support of local community and cultural organizations.”

Like many community programs, the Sister City Program experienced reduced activity during the COVID-19 pandemic and has remained largely dormant. As the City considers reestablishing the program, perspectives from Moreno Valley residents are essential. The survey will help the City better understand community interest, priorities, and ideas for future engagement.

Residents are encouraged to complete the survey and share their thoughts on the program’s value and opportunities for renewed connection.
