The Beautifully Haunting History of Preston and Simons mortuary

Nestled along Mission Boulevard in Riverside, California, the Preston and Simons Mortuary has served the local community since its founding. With a history that navigates through more than a century of service, this establishment has become a vital part of Riverside's historical tapestry. 

The mortuary was founded in 1910 by Walter W. Preston and Samuel Simons. Initially established to meet the growing needs of the Riverside community, it provided funeral services and final resting solutions at a time when the city was expanding rapidly. The original location was designed to be a comforting space for grieving families, emphasizing care and compassion during their difficult times. In 1940, they moved to their current location on Mission Boulevard.

 

Over the decades, Preston and Simons Mortuary has successfully handled thousands of services, earning itself a reputation for professionalism and empathy. The mortuary has been operated by different generations of the Preston and Simmons families, maintaining a tradition of service since its inception.
