For a business owner, networking is just one of the many elements that need to be mastered in order for their business to flourish. In the city of Redlands, business owners seem to understand that concept and embrace it. On Thursday, Feb. 20 The Chamber of Commerce in Redlands held an After Hours Business Mixer. The Mixer was hosted by the Redlands Executive Suites which was represented by Manager Jennifer Heichberger and her assistant/receptionist Paisley Owens. “We lease the building to all kinds of professionals; we have attorneys, realtors, doctors, and even city councils, we are happy to serve them all,” said Heichberger about the mixer. Alan Richard, Chamber of Commerce Treasurer and owner of ISU BARICH Insurance orchestrated the raffle and informed members and those interested about upcoming events. One of the raffle winners was Linda Derebery who received a wreath made of wine corks which was donated by a member. “These are good opportunities to continue networking,” exclaimed Ricard about the mixers who also informed the attendees about new member orientations which are available called B2B week and used to build membership. Businesses owners in attendance were able to converse amongst each other and become familiar with one another as well as catch up with those they already know. The owners of Redlands Juice It Up were present and supported the event. Steve and Cathy Griffin were all smiles and supportive while speaking with their fellow business owners. Board Member and All Four Paws owner Elizabeth Kulbin was in attendance and has been an active supporter of the Chamber for many years. Kublin who has been in business since 2006 shares that the mixer is “a great place to network and gather resources for business owners.” Eric Anderson Criminal Attorney was more than happy to support and represent businesses he counsels such as Wild Donkey Brewery and Redlands Cigar Lounge. After Anderson graduated from Boston College School of Law he did some extensive traveling throughout the county which included stints in New York and the Bay Area before settling in Redlands. “I have to say I simply love the people, area, and couldn’t imagine myself anywhere else,” states Anderson. Ron Witte decided he would open a business installing flat screen televisions in local businesses that displayed local advertisements after retiring from the grocery industry after more than 30 years of service. In his first year he built his clientele to over twenty local businesses in Yucaipa and has since expanded to the surrounding areas, Redlands included. Witte’s wife, Beatrice helped him coin the motto he follows wholeheartedly, “See it. Believe it.” He is now an active member at the Redlands Chamber of Commerce and hasn’t looked back. “I believe helping local businesses, small businesses is an effective way to keep the economy moving,” added Witte.
