City Sets Community Presentations for Infrastructure Program

Redlands city staff have scheduled two community presentations on the flood control, ADA ramps, sidewalks, trees and parks (FAST) infrastructure program. The presentations are designed to describe and explain the proposed program and financing and seek public input. The first presentation is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Jan. 30, in the Redlands Community Center Banquet Room at 111 W. Lugonia Ave. A second presentation is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Feb. 10, at the Redlands City Council Chambers. Both presentations are open to the public and will include time for questions and answers. On Dec. 17, city staff presented a report to the city council outlining areas of critical infrastructure need, including flood control, sidewalks, ADA ramps, urban forest and parks, and a potential program for funding construction, repair and maintenance of each. Following the report, the council authorized city staff to make presentations to the community to gauge public support for the infrastructure program and report back to the council in February. Teams of city staff, including the City Manager’s Office, Municipal Utilities and Engineering, and Quality of Life and Finance have begun holding meetings with various service clubs, homeowners and residential groups, business groups, religious organizations and others. Any group of 10 or more who wishes to receive a presentation from city staff on the proposed infrastructure program may contact the City Manager’s Office at 909-798-7511 or by email at CMExecAsst@cityofredlands.org. The presentation takes about 45 minutes to an hour, including time for questions.
