3rd Annual "Walk for Lifehouse and Family Fun Festival"

LifeHouse Theater announces its third annual "Walk for LifeHouse and Family Fun Festival" to be held Saturday, Sept. 6. The theater will host the event from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Moore Middle School, 1550 East Highland Avenue, Redlands. A wide variety of activities and attractions for families are scheduled throughout the day. The festival will feature fun for all ages with carnival games, contests, puppet and talent shows, a bounce house, face painting, pictures and autographs with LifeHouse Theater storybook characters, food and drink, and the traditional "Walk for LifeHouse" fundraising activity. A variety of vendors from area businesses will also be on hand. Ticket booklets to be used for admission and participation in the games, events and attractions will be available the day of the event for $5 each. Registration to participate in the "Walk for LifeHouse," which begins promptly at 8:30 a.m. for ages 11 and up, is $35. Registration includes a ticket booklet redeemable for festival activities. Those walking at the event will each be sponsored for up to 10 miles to raise funds for the community theater. "We are excited to be sharing so many fun activities with everyone in the community," comments LifeHouse events coordinator Tammy Bradshaw-Scott. "Everything is designed to be as fun and family friendly as our theater itself." "This event should be a blast," added LifeHouse general manager Jeff DeWitt. "We're offering something for everyone and it's a great way to experience all the joys of the theater in a safe environment. Currently celebrating its 20th season, LifeHouse Theater has grown to become an Inland Empire attraction with its continuous year-round performances, touring productions, school shows, and charitable activities at hospitals, prisons, service clubs, churches and retirement communities. More than 30,000 guests pass through the LifeHouse Theater doors each year to experience the company's unique, original musicals and critically acclaimed Broadway classics. "Our goal is to reach out to the community with this year's festival event," explains LifeHouse Founder and President Wayne Scott. "We want everyone to experience a bit of the creative fun LifeHouse offers through the arts while also raising funds to keep our theater vibrant in a tough economy." A member of the Redlands Chamber of Commerce, LifeHouse is active in the community and works to support YouthHope, Ronald McDonald House and the Salvation Army. The theater has also won dozens of Inland Theater League awards and has been named one of the most popular theaters in the region by The Sun newspaper's reader poll and for three consecutive years by a vote of "Good Day L.A." viewers of the Fox Television morning program. Currently performing at LifeHouse Theater is "Seussical the Musical" (presently through Aug. 31). This Broadway classic will be followed by the premieres of the biblical comedy "Samson" (Sept. 13-Oct. 12), and the chilling story of "Sherlock Holmes and the Hound of the Baskervilles" (Oct. 25-Nov.16).
