Wine tasting, craft beer sampling, gourmet food, live jazz music, silent and live auction items, opportunity drawings, and socializing with friends combine for the Rotary Club of Redlands' 31st Annual Red Wine and Blues fundraising event to be held on Saturday, April 2 from 4-7 p.m., at the Redlands Country Club. The annual event raises funds for youth scholarships, books and dictionaries for local students, programs for teens and handicapped adults, music and speech competition awards, and many other community service and improvement projects. "Since 1992, the Rotary Club of Redlands Foundation has raised and distributed more than $1.2 million to benefit our neighbors and community," stated Rotary President Nathan Gonzales. "By attending our Red Wine and Blues fundraiser, and purchasing our live and silent auction items, you become our partner in providing sustenance to our neighbors around the corner and around the world." Some of the finest wineries and breweries in California and beyond will be represented. International food stations will serve guests their tastiest hors d'oeuvres and spectacular desserts. Live jazz music will be provided by the “Big Bertha Band,” under the direction of former Redlands resident Ben Davis. Exciting live auction items will go to the highest bidders, as a professional auctioneer rallies the crowd to take home unique trips and stays at fine hotels and resorts. The public is invited to join in this gala event. Tickets are $90 in advance; $100 at the door and are available from all Rotary Club of Redlands members, Laura’s Travel Service, Wilson Jewelers, Edward Jones Investments, Hatfield Buick GMC, and the office of Dr. Katrina Platt and Sandra Bentley. For more information or to purchase tickets online, please go to the event website at: www.redwineandblues.com The Rotary Club of Redlands meets at 12 Noon every Thursday (except holidays) in downtown Redlands.
