Train Testing Week of April 11

Train testing throughout the 9-mile Arrow corridor has begun and will continue until service starts later this year. Metrolink and DMU trains are being used to test the tracks, signals at the crossings, and communication systems.

Testing with DMU trains began Friday, April 1. For safety, and in compliance with the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulations, horns (two long, one short, one long) and bells will sound at street crossings throughout the 9-mile corridor during testing.

Nighttime train testing (6:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.) of the DMU trains between G Street and Tippecanoe Avenue is scheduled for Thursday, April 7 (tonight), Friday, April 8 (tomorrow), and Saturday, April 9 (into Sunday morning).

Intermittent daytime (7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) lane closures will occur at local grade crossings between E Street and Church Street. Through travel/two-way travel will remain at all times at each location.

Roadway and pedestrian gates will be in full operation to provide traffic and pedestrian control at each of the intersections/crossings. If needed, flaggers and safety personnel will be onsite to assist motorists and pedestrians at the intersections/crossings.

Please remember train testing is dynamic and the schedule may change.
