Construction crews will be performing drainage and shoring work along I-10 between 9th Street and Sperry Drive and at the eastbound I-10 on- and off-ramps at Mt. Vernon Avenue from Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26. Drainage work will require nighttime ramp closures, while shoring activities on the freeway will take place during the day behind K-rail barriers.

The following traffic impacts are scheduled:

  • Intermittent lane closures will occur daily from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Mt. Vernon Avenue between Valley Boulevard and the eastbound I-10 off-ramp, and on Valley Boulevard west of Mt. Vernon Avenue and N. Sperry Drive. Motorists should expect traffic control and brief delays.
  • The eastbound I-10 on- and off-ramps at Mt. Vernon Avenue will be closed nightly from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday, June 22 through Thursday, June 25, and from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26 into Saturday morning. Detour routes will be posted.

Crews continue shoring and excavation activities at the pump station site along East Valley Boulevard.

Traffic delays are expected. Detour routes will be posted. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use alternate routes when possible.

All construction is dynamic, weather-permitting, and the schedule is subject to change.

Please check the Google Map for the most updated closure information.
