The Redlands Fire Department invites the community to come to one of two Town Hall meetings to learn about the risks of wildland fires and how to be prepared. The meetings will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, and at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17. Both meetings will be held in the Grace Mullen Auditorium at the Redlands High School campus, 840 E. Citrus Ave.

Wildfires have recently devastated communities throughout California. One-third of the City of Redlands has been identified within the Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, meaning the risk of a major destructive wildland fire is very high.

Redlands Fire Chief Nathan Cooke and members of the department will discuss ways residents can prepare for wildfire.

The public is encouraged to attend either of the Town Hall meetings. For more information, call (909) 798-7600 or visit the Redlands Fire Department’s webpage at www.cityofredlands.org/fire-department or the department’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/redlandsfiredepartment.
