Redlands Firefighters, along with an engine company from Loma Linda, responded to a structure fire in the 10800 block of New Jersey Street at approximately 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13. There were no injuries reported.

The first firefighters on scene found a detached garage well involved with fire and threatening nearby residences.

Initial suppression efforts were hampered by downed power lines that had fallen as a result of the fire. Southern California Edison crews secured the downed lines, allowing firefighters to advance suppression actions.

The fire was contained approximately 20 minutes after firefighters arrived on scene.

City Building and Safety Division officials responded and red-tagged two remaining residential buildings on the property. Estimated loss is $50,000 and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Anyone with information on the fire is asked to contact the Redlands Fire Department at (909) 798-7600.
