Loma Linda Art Association invites artists and art lovers to a portrait-painting demonstration by noted Inland Empire painter and teacher David Fairrington. The event will be held this Sunday, April 3, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Cabana Clubhouse, 1532 Lynne Court, Redlands. Admission is free for current members and $5 for everyone else. Reservations are not required.
Fairrington is noted for realistic portraiture, landscapes, still life, and Western art in a wide range of styles. He cites John Singer Sargent and Norman Rockwell as significant influences in the development of his vision and has worked as a combat artist for the United States military. His work may be viewed online at https://davidfairringtone.com/.
Loma Linda Art Association was forced to suspend its popular monthly demonstrations during the pandemic but recently resumed them at the Cabana Clubhouse in a residential neighborhood in Redlands. The demonstrations will be moving back to Loma Linda in the near future.
“We are excited to host Mr. Fairrington for our April presentation,” said James Ponder, association president. “Not only is his award-winning art remarkable in itself, but Mr. Fairrington also holds the distinction of having taught more of our member artists than any other person alive. We are honored to welcome him and look forward to his inspiring demonstration.”
