Pet of the Week: Big Energy, Bigger Heart—Meet Airbud

Looking to add a little excitement, love, and adventure to your life? Each week, we shine a light on a special shelter pet who’s ready for a fresh start and forever home. This week’s featured friend is full of personality, energy, and heart!

Meet Airbud—a bright, bouncy, one-year-old Shepherd mix with a heart full of joy and legs made for adventure. This friendly, playful boy is always ready to turn an ordinary day into something fun. He lives for fetch, loves a good game of tug-of-war, and isn’t shy about showing off his impressive jumping skills. Smart and eager to please, Airbud already knows the command “sit” and thrives on positive attention.

Airbud would be a fantastic match for an active adopter who’s excited to share daily exercise, playtime, training, and plenty of affection. Like all dogs, he’s not just looking for a home—he’s looking for a lifelong commitment. That means time, patience, routine care, and the promise to be there for him through every stage of life. In return, Airbud offers loyalty, companionship, and a whole lot of love.

You can meet Airbud in person at the Devore Animal Shelter during a meet-and-greet to see if you’re the perfect match.

Adoptions are FREE for qualifying pets, and include spaying or neutering, a microchip, and age-appropriate vaccinations. To help ease the transition into pet parenthood, MetLife Pet Insurance offers 30 days of complimentary pet insurance.

To learn more about supporting the Devore and Big Bear Animal Shelters—or to view details about MetLife’s adoption benefit—visit ARF Fund.

Pet ID: A837864

If you’re ready for an active companion and a long-term promise, Airbud just might be waiting for you.
