Music on the Balcony Lifting Spirits

From its beginnings in January of 2020, the coronavirus outbreak has driven millions of people to shelter at home for long days. In country after country, people have responded by taking to their balconies, windows, and rooftops to sing to one another, to applaud and show gratitude to their health-care workers, to play music, and to lift one another’s spirits. The singing has continued into 2021 as we face many challenges of our troubled world and the continued coronavirus outbreaks.

To lift everyone’s spirits and encourage local shopping, the Redlands Visitor Center will begin MUSIC ON THE BALCONY starting October 2 - December 30. Local musicians will play from 10am-12PM and 4pm-6pm each Saturday. Many of these professional musicians are Redlanders or University of Redlands and CSUSB music students who are required to take private music lessons to graduate. Each musician will be compensated for their performances through sponsorships. Sponsors can fund a morning session ($300), afternoon session ($300), both Saturday sessions ($600), or the entire month ($2500). Sponsors will be promoted to 80,900 residents and visitors on social media. Business branding banners will be displayed on the balcony for monthly sponsors.

Additionally, monthly sponsors will be included on the Visitor Center’s outside digital advertising as well as in the Center’s window all month. Music on the Balcony is made possible by these fine sponsors: Barich & Associates Health Insurance, Emerson Fine Jewelry, and Mountain West Financial.

Businesses, individuals, and families interested in sponsoring MUSIC ON THE BALCONY may email hello@RedlandsVisitorCenter.com or call/text Deborah O’Hara 909-721-1399.
