The Inland Master Chorale is looking for experienced singers to join the 60-member chorus, under the direction of Dr. Joseph Modica. Interested singers are encouraged to attend open rehearsals at 7:00 pm on August 21 and 28 in the Frederick Lowe Recital Hall at University of Redlands, 1200 E. Colton Avenue, Redlands.

“Open rehearsals give newcomers an opportunity to try us out before making a commitment,” explained Chorale spokesperson Wendy Williams.  “Guests sing along with current members, learning music for the first concert to get a feel for the level of expected musicianship as well as the rehearsal routine.”

Auditions are done by appointment following the open rehearsal period, administered by Artistic Director, Dr. Joseph Modica, and Assistant Director, Anna DeLeon. Prospective members will be evaluated on sight-reading, tonal memory and the performance of a musical piece selected by the singer.  More information is available at our website.

Modica is Assistant Dean of the School of Music and Associate Professor of Music at the University of Redlands and the Director of Pastoral Music at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament in Hollywood, CA. DeLeon is Director of Choirs at Grand Terrace High School.

The Chorale offers four concerts in 2018-19: Bernstein at 100 on October 13 & 14, 2018; A Ceremony of Carols on December 8 & 9, 2018; American Women in Music on March 9 & 10, 2019; and Mozart Requiem on May 18 & 19, 2019.  The Chorale is also planning a European tour in June 2019.
