Redlands Firefighters responded shortly after 7 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, to a structure fire at Splash Kingdom, 1101 California St. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters found flames and heavy smoke in the water park area of the vacant park. It took firefighters less than 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze. Crews remained on scene for another hour.

The fire was contained to the water slide area of the park and did extensive damage to all of the water slides.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but is considered suspicious.

In addition to 16 Redlands personnel, six Loma Linda firefighters responded to the blaze.
