The Redlands Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at an abandoned home in the 1100 block of Webster Street Sunday afternoon, May 19. No injuries were reported.

Responding units arrived shortly after 1:30 p.m. to find smoke coming from the boarded-up, single-story residence.

Following initial reports of a possible victim inside, the first arriving crews were assigned to search and rescue, along with the initial fire attack. After a search of the building, it was determined no one was inside.

It took firefighters less than 15 minutes to extinguish the blaze. Crews were on scene for approximately 90 minutes. Fifteen firefighters from Redlands and three from San Bernardino County responded.

Damages were estimated at approximately $5,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The public is encouraged to report all suspicious activity at or near vacant homes to the Redlands Police Department.
