REDLANDS>> Two people were arrested Tuesday, April 19th for assault with a deadly weapon in connection with a shooting that left one person critically injured the prior weekend.

Police responded to multiple calls of shots fired in the 1600 block of Heron Court at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 15. When they arrived, they found a 26-year-old male victim lying in the driveway of the home, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was conscious but bleeding profusely. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery.

Through investigation and surveillance cameras located in the area, detectives determined two suspects fled the shooting in a tan or beige Cadillac Escalade with black rims. At about 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, Redlands Police conducted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle in the area of East 13th and Belle streets in San Bernardino. Officers took the driver, 25-year-old San Bernardino resident Daniel Vincent Hearn, into custody. A short time later, detectives contacted the second suspect, 25-year-old Anthony Michael Lara, at his residence in the 1700 block of Clay Street and took him into custody without incident.

Hearn and Lara were arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon. Lara was also charged with a parole violation. Detectives believe the shooting stemmed from a dispute between the victim and suspects, who are all believed to be gang members.
