Couple Shares About Their Journey into Mt. Sinai

Recently, the Sierra Club held a presentation at the San Bernardino County Museum. A couple in the Sierra Club, Gail and Ladd Seekins, shared their experiences from their Mt. Sinai trip to Jordan and Egypt. Mr. Seekins narrated the experience much like a story and flipped through photos of the trip. He shared that he and his wife prefer to engage in "independent travel through the guidebooks" rather than follow the tours. He then presented stories of entertainment, culture, artifacts, food, museums, markets, myths, foliage and even the weather. About thirty people filled the seats and periodically uttered outbursts of amazement and intrigue. Afterward, the couple opened up the floor for questions. They discussed topics ranging from differences they encountered from a similar trip taken years ago as well as the specific camera used to snap photos. Mrs. Seekins hoped the presentation would "stop people from going on tours because it is different when you're on your own. You get to meet the people who are there and get to know them." The couple has been to 80 countries, and has visited every continent. They "just enjoy seeing the world. We've been working on it for years now." They say they plan to continue to journey through the world and share their experiences with the club.
