Armed Man Holds Up Hotel Clerk, Flees with Cash

Police are investigating after a man held up a hotel clerk at gunpoint on the evening of Aug. 16. Police responded to the report of an armed robbery at about 6:30 p.m. at the Country Inn & Suites, 1650 Industrial Park Ave. The robber was in the hotel lobby for several minutes before approaching the clerk, displaying a handgun and demanding money from the cash register. He fled the hotel on foot. No vehicle was seen. The robber is described as a white male, between 25 and 30 years old, 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 130 to 140 pounds. He was unshaven with short brown hair and a tattoo on his neck. He was last seen wearing a baseball cap with an Atlanta Braves “A” logo, a faded black sweatshirt, baggy blue jeans and bright red athletic shoes.
