REDLANDS>>The City of Redlands will hold two public workshops to provide information and seek public input prior to the city council’s review of updated user fees and service charges associated with the cost of providing various fee-related services. In 2012, the council approved a resolution establishing fees and service charges following a detailed study by an outside consultant to determine the true cost of providing various fee-related services. The council also provided for adjustments to the fees based on annual changes to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) to keep pace with inflation in the absence of a new study. A separate study of Building and Safety User fees also recommends adjustments based on the costs of providing service. A copy of the study is available on the city’s website or at the city clerk’s office. The two public workshops that have been scheduled include Tuesday, Nov. 29, 10 a.m. to noon, at the East Valley Association of Realtors, 820 W. Colton Ave. in Redlands and Wednesday, Dec. 7, 10 a.m. to noon, at the City Council Chambers, 35 Cajon St. in Redlands. Following the workshops the user fee adjustments will return to the city council for further discussion and possible action.
