The University of Redlands is pleased to announce the appointment of Shelli Stockton as its Director of Alumni & Community Relations effective February 24. In this position, Stockton will work closely with the University’s Alumni Association and offer crucial leadership by cultivating relationships with volunteers and providing opportunities for alumni, parents, students and community members to engage with the University. “Shelli has a deep appreciation of the value of volunteerism and of service to the community,” said Anita West, Vice President of Advancement. “Her leadership will serve us well as we expand University outreach to foster lifelong relationships with alumni, students, parents and friends.” An active member of the community, Stockton brings a wealth of volunteer management experience from her involvement and leadership positions on the boards of the YMCA of the East Valley, Redlands Community Music Association, Family Service Association of Redlands, Redlands Community Foundation, Associates of the Redlands Bowl, United Way of the East Valley and others. Stockton has held several roles at Esri for 14 years and most recently served as the Industry Manager of Financial Services and Facilities Management in the Marketing Division. A member of Kappa Delta Sorority, Stockton has served in numerous positions within the national organization including traveling as a Chapter Development Consultant and as Director of Membership and Director of Conventions before being elected to a six-year term as Vice President of Finance on the national Board of Directors. Named Redlands’ 2012 Woman of the Year, Stockton has been involved with the University in several roles, including as a coordinator of a number of the University’s Centennial Celebration events in 2006-2007 and most recently as the President of the Town & Gown Board of Directors. She is the co-founder—along with Jack Dangermond, Founder and President of Esri, and Charlotte Burgess, Vice President and Dean of Student Life at the University of Redlands—of the Redlands Forum event series, which is sponsored by Esri and University of Redlands Town & Gown. Stockton will retain her responsibility for the Redlands Forum and continue to act as its emcee. In addition, she will help conceive and coordinate other joint University of Redlands/Esri projects in her new position. “This move further strengthens the already strong relationship between Esri and the University of Redlands. I am looking forward to even greater collaboration, both on the academic side as well as within the Redlands community we share,” Dangermond said. Stockton has a B.A. in Communications from UCLA and an MBA with a Marketing concentration from the College of William and Mary.
