Wonderland Tea Party Returned to Kimberly Crest

The Kimberly Crest gardens turned into a Wonderland on Saturday, September 16th for their second annual Wonderland Tea Party. The weather was perfect for a morning of very merry activities and a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.

Guests were greeted by the Queen of Hearts, Alice, the Mad Hatter and numerous Card Soldiers as they made their way to the Terrace. Life sized and oversized props, provided by Wonderland Party Props, were located throughout the gardens making for a magical tea party experience. Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum cheerfully waved to guests from the lower pond while the Queen of Hearts and the White Rabbit resided in the rose garden. Lawn games were located on the terrace, including the popular tea cup race and Alice story time. New this year was giant Jenga.

Tea service was held in the back pond area, and was quite the sight! Brightly colored tables with fanciful centerpieces filled the lawn area while the Chesire Cat was nestled by the beverage station. The menu for close to 300 attendees included: ham and pineapple sandwiches, strawberry and cream cheese sandwiches, fresh fruit salad, strawberry shortcake, sweet tea and pink lemonade.

“Multiple things make this an incredible event,” said Cathrin DeVoe, Kimberly-Shirk Docent Auxiliary President, “But my favorite part is watching the families come together and seeing everyone dressed up. The adults have just as much fun as the children and it really shows.”

Coming up next at Kimberly Crest is a very special and merryChristmas Tea Party for little girls and their dolls on December 9th, 2017. Guests will enjoy tea, take a picture with Santa and take a tour of the mansion decorated for Christmas. This event has very limited seating. Tickets are $55/person and go on sale October 1st.
