Investigators on Tuesday, Sept. 8 arrested a 65-year-old Huntington Beach man suspected of molestation of a Redlands teen in Redlands and Orange County over the past two years. Detectives believe there may be additional victims. Richard George Moran was arrested without incident at about 2:30 p.m. at his home in Huntington Beach. Detectives began investigating Moran after receiving reports in June of child molestation. The victim, a 13-year-old Redlands boy, told police that Moran had touched him inappropriately while they were alone together in the boy’s Redlands home and in the suspect’s vehicle in Orange County. Through the course of the investigation, detectives were able to gather evidence to support the allegations and an arrest warrant was issued by the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office. Moran is a retired maintenance worker recently employed by the City of Huntington Beach. Detectives believe there may be additional victims who have yet to be contacted by police. Moran is being held at West Valley Detention Center in lieu of $250,000 bail.
