Reality TV star, local chef and organic gardener Holli Ugalde, who was the winner of season seven of the reality TV show Hell’s Kitchen with Gordon Ramsey, picked, chopped and mixed fresh herbs in a free cooking demonstration that took place this past at In your Best Interest Medical Clinic, located at 1201 Brookside Avenue, Redlands. The health-oriented forum series was sponsored by Redlands Community Hospital (RCH). The cooking demonstration and lecture discussed creative ways to use fresh herbs in everyday cooking. Chef Ugalde tends to her two acre organic garden in Beaumont. The event was free and open to the public. This special wellness series was hosted by Steven Wilson, MD, a family practice physician who is on staff at Redlands Community Hospital. An avid health and wellness advocate, Dr. Wilson started the “Healthy Highway” program which offers monthly forums centered around exercise, nutrition and wellness. Dr. Wilson’s practice also features a small garden in the back where he and his staff teach patients how to grow their own herbs and vegetables. Ugalde’s passion for cooking started at the early age of four, and she has not looked back since. Uglade graduated with honors from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Los Angeles in 2004. Ugalde is a restaurant consultant for an international hotel chain. She also has developed her own cooking products named Chef Holli Enterprises and is in the process of publishing her first cookbook.
