After Alena Rumiantceva's impressive season debut, she earned California Baptist University its second-straight Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week award, as announced Wednesday, Oct. 28. It was the Malibu Invite that served as Rumiantceva's season debut after she missed the team's opener the week before. The competition included NCAA Division I squads Pepperdine, Bakersfield and Loyola Marymount, in addition to Concordia and Cal Lutheran, and marked a proving ground for Rumiantceva two weeks ago. Rumiantceva notched two Division II B-cut times in breaststroke events. The junior picked up a win in the 200-yard breast in two minutes, 19.21 seconds and then touched second in the 100 breast in 1:04.99, with both earning her consideration for the NCAA Championships. She also went runner-up in the 50 breast (20.68) and taking fifth in the 100 individual medley (1:01.33).
