It is Dec. 1936 and Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his leading role in the play Sherlock Holmes, has invited his fellow cast-members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of revelry. But when one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. Then it’s up to Gillette himself, as he assumes the persona of his beloved Holmes, to track down the killer before the next victim appears. The danger and hilarity are non-stop in this glittering whodunit set during the Christmas holidays. Danger and hilarity abound in this new comedy by the author of Leading Ladies. Here it is! Best cast in the valley according to their director, Phillip Gabriel! Mel Chadwick will be playing William Gillette. Felix is being portrayed by Mitch Stark, Lisa Shannon is playing Madge and we have Jennifer Rubino-Detrow as Aggie. Mike Detrow is helping us out with Simon and Daria is being portrayed by Amanda Walker. We also have Lynette Kaplan playing Martha and the Inspector played by Sabrina Foley. The Redlands Footlighters has the distinct honor of being one of the first regional theaters that has gotten the rights to do Ken Ludwig's newest play! Enjoy, it is going to be a treat! The Redlands Footlighters Theater is located at 1810 Barton Road, next to the Asistencia. The Game's Afoot opens Thursday, Sept. 4 with a reception following the performance. The performances continue friday and saturday evenings and sunday afternoons through Sept. 21. Show times for evening performances will be 8 p.m. and sunday matinees start at 2 p.m. Admission is $15/$10 with student ID. By the way, if you ever wanted to help out with a local community theater, we would love to see you. Do you like to paint, work on costumes, build things or try you hand at being in front of the stage lights, come on by and let us know! Call 909-793-2909 or visit www.RedlandsFootlighters.org for tickets.
