REDLANDS>> The University of Redlands Theatre Arts Department will host a fundraiser from 4 to 9 p.m. Mon., Nov. 7 at the Gourmet Pizza Shoppe, 120 E. State St. The event is to support U of R’s “Big Brother Hamlet” spring student production performing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland this August. “Big Brother Hamlet” is a surveillance adaptation of Shakespeare’s text, directed by U of R Theatre Arts professor Chris Beach of Redlands. The production was selected to perform at the festival, which is the largest arts one in the world, and attracts an audience of more than 500,000. Patrons are asked to reference “Big Brother Hamlet” when they dine-in or order take-out of menu items, featuring more than 80 pizzas, pasta, salads and drinks, at the Gourmet Pizza Shoppe any time between 4 and 9 p.m. Nov 7, for the school production to earn a percentage of the purchases. For more information on how to support the “Big Brother Hamlet” Festival production, visit: sites.redlands.edu/big-brother-hamlet; or contact Ericka Smith at 909-748-8357, or ericka_smith@redlands.edu.
