REDLANDS>> Construction on a $132,235 alley improvement project in Redlands was scheduled to begin Monday, Nov. 28. On Sept. 20, 2016, the City Council awarded the contract for the CDBG Alley Paving Improvement Project to EBS General Engineering of Colton. Construction is anticipated to be completed in February 2017, barring any unforeseen conditions. Federal Community Development Block Grant funds will be used to complete the project. As part of the CDBG Alley Paving Improvement Project, existing alleys in the area between Orange and Clay streets and Colton and Union avenues will be graded and paved to improve drainage and functionality. There will be no access to the alleys during construction but trash collection will occur on normal trash collection day. The CDBG Alley Paving Improvement Project was designed and will be managed by the City’s Municipal Utilities and Engineering Department. For more information, contact Treasure Ortiz, public relations coordinator for the Municipal Utilities and Engineering Department at (909) 798-7524, ext. 2, or by email at tortiz@cityofredlands.org.
