The cities of San Bernardino, Redlands, Rialto, Rancho Cucamonga, Montclair and Pomona were hit earlier this year with a rash of linked robberies. The robberies where linked to a suspect who robbed primarily gas stations and fast food restaurants. The suspect was armed with a handgun and either displayed or pointed the gun at the victims during the robberies. The San Bernaridno Police Department's robbery detectives worked alongside the Crime Analysis Unit to develop information which led to the identification of the suspect who has been identified as 26 year old Mark Anthony Toney of Hemet. Toney was located and taken into custody in the 4000 block of E. Highland in San Bernardino where detectives found evidence from many of the crimes after arresting and searching the premise. Toney was on active PRCS Probation for being an Ex-Felon in possession of a firearm. He is currently at the Central Detention Center under 10 separate counts of armed robbery with more charges to be expected.
