SoCal SC Looking for Back-to-Back Wins

SAN BERNARDINO >> The Southern California Sports Club is in position to amass back-to-back wins for the first time on its 2017 National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) campaign as the team faces Sports Club Corinthians USA this Saturday (May 27) at the Chino High School, at 7:30PM (PT).

Following a 4-1 win over City of Angels FC last weekend, SoCal SC is the sixth placed team of the West Southwest Conference with 11 points (three wins, two ties and four losses). The winless Corinthians USA ranks eighth with two points (two ties, seven losses).

“We got the three points against City of Angels this past week, which was much needed for the team”, said SoCal SC’s captain Eric Gonzalez. “It moved us higher in the standings and we need to use this motivation to continue our run against Corinthians. It’s not going to be an easy game. Competition in our conference is really high and anybody can beat anybody. The team has been training hard during the weekend and we need to continue that run”.

The teams already met earlier this season, with SoCal SC recording a 3-0 home win last April with forward Roonie Moreno scoring and brace and midfielder Alex Zaragoza finding the back of the net once.

“I am looking forward to getting three points and hopefully recording a clean sheet”, commented defender Taeyoung Kim. “We’ve conceded goals on each of our last five matches and, as a defender, I feel this is something we need to improve. We will do our best to collect the three points and move up on the standings”.

SoCal SC will be again commanded by Interim Head Coach Samuel Bernabe, as Coach Daniel Musatti is serving a three-game suspension after he was sent off against FC Arizona three weeks ago.
