University of Redlands to Offer Leadership Development Program

The School for Continuing Studies at the University of Redlands will host a seven-week leadership development program beginning Thursday, March 27. Developed and led by President Emeritus Dr. James Appleton, the interactive series of seminars will help participants improve their community leadership skills. The program is ideal for grass-root community leaders and not-for-profit managers and directors. The seven-week program will build on participants’ strengths, helping them identify opportunities for improvement and become more effective in the execution of their responsibilities as a stakeholder in their community. This program will be a rewarding and enriching experience for participants and their community will benefit as leaders across the region come together to share best practices. Featured workshop topics include: • Elements of Successful Leadership • Diversity and Inclusion • Leadership Principles and Practice • Leadership Practice in Groups • Conflict Management • Leadership and Analysis University of Redlands presenters include: • Dr. James R. Appleton, President Emeritus • Dr. Renee Van Vechten - Chair, Department of Government • Dr. Keith Osajima - Director, Race and Ethnic Studies Other featured presenters include, San Bernardino County District Attorney, Michael Ramos and conflict management instructor, Grant Miller. The workshops will run Thursdays beginning March 27, from 6 to 9 p.m. The cost is $295, with scholarships available by contacting info-scs@redlands.edu.
