Firefighters Donate new T-shirts for Breast Cancer Awareness

By Carl Baker

Redlands Firefighters have swapped their uniform T-shirts for new ones with pink lettering and hightlights during the month of October in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

But the T-shirts aren't just for Firefighters. The public can also purchase a Redlands Fire Department T-shirt at the Redlands Fire Administrative Headquarters. The offices are located at 35 Cajon St., Suite 12 in downtown Redlands.

The T-shirts are available in sizes small through XXL. The cost per shirt is $20 with all proceeds going to Stater Bros. Charities and Inland Women Fighting Cancer, presenters of the 2017 Believe Walk.

This marks the fifth consecutive year Redlands Firefighters have worn commemorative T-shirts through the month of October in an effort to increase awareness and raise funds to help fight breast cancer. Each year the Redlands Firefighters Association purchases the T-shirts with money donated from members. With the community’s support, the Redlands Professional Firefighters have donated a total of $19,000 to the charity.

The T-shirts are available (while supplies last) for purchase Monday through Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For additional information, please call (909) 798-7600.
