Redlands Horticulture and Improvement Society invites the public to its Thursday, Sept. 18 general meeting. The speaker, Molly Bogh, is and author and former city planner for the city of Highland. The title of the program will be “Life After Lawns; 8 Steps from Grass to a Waterwise Garden,” based on her book of the same title, which describes how she converted her lawn to a beautiful waterwise landscape. Bogh can help you plan your waterwise garden. She has served communities through Southern California for over 25 years. Her work promoting water-conserving landscapes became a passion for creating livable gardens. Bill Schnetz, her co-author is a Certified Landscaping Professional and design build landscape contractor with over 30 years experience in garden design, construction and maintenance. Their book, “Life After Lawns; 8 Steps from Grass to a Waterwise Garden” tells you step-by-step how to turn your grass into a gorgeous garden. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at Church of the Nazarene at 1307 E. Citrus in Redlands. Door prizes, refreshments and an opportunity to meet the guest speaker are a bonus to the monthly meetings. Guests are encouraged.
