On July 20, from 1 to 5:30 p.m., Assistance League of Redlands will be having a Vintage Sale and Art Show at their Thrift Shop located at 506 West Colton Street. Local artists from the Redlands’ area will be exhibiting their artwork for sale. Some of the artists participating include Anneli Pendley, pastels and paintings; Jennifer Bryant, chalk paintings; Terri Miller, bead and gem jewelry; Jean Hall, paintings and collages; Beth Bobbitt, silver jewelry; Sandie Petrucelli, jewelry; Sheila LeBlanc, oil paintings, watercolors and pastels; Linda Willason, paintings; and, Judith Sparhawk, photography. “Not only will shoppers be able view and purchase local artwork,“ said Carol Betancourt, the new President of ALR, “they also get first pick on a large selection of vintage items the Thrift Shop has been saving for such an event.” Fine china, glassware, old kitchen utensils, linens, and other vintage collectibles will be for sale that evening. Singer and guitarist Ellen Schwartz and Jazz Saxophonist Bob Knop will provide music while customers enjoy a glass of wine and hors d’oeuvres while they shop. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door, and may be purchased at the Thrift Shop during business hours: Mondays through Fridays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. “All proceeds from this event will go to our ‘Pay It Back Fund,’” stated President Carol Betancourt. “We want to pay down the debt we acquired on our new expansion to the Thrift Shop so more funds can go back into the community.” The Thrift Shop is manned entirely by volunteers and is the biggest fund raiser for the organization. Assistance League of Redlands was founded in 1931 and chartered in 1952. The organization sponsors many philanthropic projects that benefit children and their families in the Redlands’ community. For more information on this event, becoming a member, or to make a donation to the Thrift Shop, please call the Thrift Shop at (909) 792-2675 during business hours.
