Experienced singers interested in auditioning for the Inland Master Chorale are invited to attend open rehearsals on Monday, Aug. 24. Auditions will be held by appointment on Thursday, Aug. 28. “Open rehearsals give newcomers an opportunity to try us out before making a commitment,” explained the Chorale’s Artistic Director, Roger Duffer. Guests sing along with current Chorale members learning music for the fall concert to get a feel for the level of expected musicianship as well as the rehearsal routine. Rehearsals are on Mondays from 7 to 10 p.m. in Weeks Fellowship Hall at the First United Methodist Church, 1 East Olive Avenue in Redlands. Auditions include sight-reading, tonal memory and performing a musical piece selected by the singer. Now in its 36th season under the direction of Roger W. Duffer and associate director Melva Morrison, The critically acclaimed Chorale features over 60 talented vocalists from throughout the Inland Empire. The 2015-2016 concert season will feature the works of Haydn, Mozart and Schubert on Oct. 24 and Oct. 25; Christmas Around the World on Dec. 12 and Dec. 13; Music, She Wrote on march 5 and March 6, 2016; and Just for the Fun of It! on May 14 and May 15, 2016. Performances are at Redlands First United Methodist Church.
