History of Stater Bros. is Topic for Next Dessert and Dialogue

REDLANDS>> Learn about the History of Stater Bros with guest speaker Brian Alesi, at the Redlands Community Senior Center’s Dessert and Dialogue program from noon to 12.30 p.m. Monday, May 15.

Alesi, manager of Stater Bros. Store #18, will talk about the store’s beginnings as a small grocery store in Yucaipa and how it grew into a Fortune 500 company with stores throughout Southern California. Stater Bros. Markets has become the largest privately-owned supermarket chain in Southern California as well as the largest private employer in both San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.

Dessert and Dialogue is a free program open to the public that takes place after the senior nutritional lunch program at the Redlands Community Senior Center. Hot meals are served Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The hot meals are open to all adults. A suggested donation of $3 is appreciated for those 60 or older, and guests under 60 can enjoy lunch for $6. Future Desert and Dialogue Presentations include the History of March Air Force Base with guest speaker Master Sgt. Erik Figi on Monday, May 22.
