Local leaders partner to Serve Free Lunches

REDLANDS>> Local leaders partner to serve free lunches for all youth this summer.

 

Join Mayor Pro Tem Paul Barich and City Council Members Pat Gilbreath, and Eddie Tejeda, along with Redlands Unified School District board members as they help kick off the free summer lunch program at noon Wednesday, June 14, at the Redlands Community Center.

 

Redlands has been selected by the National League of Cities to participate in the 2016-2017 Cities Combating Hunger through Afterschool and Summer Meal Programs. As part of the program the City has partnered with the Redlands Unified School District Nutrition Program to enhance and expand the summer meal program for youth.

 

Representatives from the City and the school district will be at the Redlands Community Center to help serve meals to children and to officially launch the Summer Meal program.   Lunches will be served from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the following locations throughout the summer:

Redlands Community Center        June 12-Aug. 4        111 W. Lugonia Ave.

Redlands Community Park            June 12-July 28       1535 N. Church St. 

A BBQ menu consisting of hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and a Rib-A-Q sandwich will be served daily along with vegetables, fruit and milk. No registration is required however if participants have any food allergies please notify us prior to receiving food.
