Smooth jazz, assortments of wine, and upbeat attitudes illuminated the Evening under the Stars Summer Soirée this past Saturday night. On Saturday, Aug. 17, Knotts Family Agency hosted the soirée at Edwards Mansion in Redlands to entertain community members from all across the San Bernardino and Riverside areas. Guests were greeted immediately by members of the agency who offered raffle tickets for prizes that were later awarded. Once in the backyard, where the festivities occurred, the first place guests ventured was two tables to taste various wines. Servers assisted in the wine tasting, offering tips for the best tasting experiences. Guests then wandered to the main area where a jazz band carried the night away. There were groups of tables and chairs and the reception tent was decorated with artwork and chandeliers. Across the way was a buffet table of appetizers including fruit, cheese, chicken wings and iced tea for all in attendance to enjoy. The Knotts Family Agency focuses on helping care for foster kids of ages from five months to 17 years. Deborah Scott, agency administrator, shared that this was the second year that Knotts Family Agency hosted the fundraiser at Edwards Mansion due to the high success of the fundraiser last year. This time around, the agency displayed a 10-minute presentation video about their agency’s mission and goals. Many people spoke on behalf of Knotts Family Agency including foster parents and social workers along with founders of the agency. Alongside the presentation, tasty appetizers, and energetic jazz band, there was also a photo booth provided for guests to capture their individual memories from the night. Knotts Family Agency locations in San Bernardino and Riverside are currently seeking motivated people to join their team of tutors and many other volunteers to benefit the foster children’s futures today.
