AFS is seeking host families. AFS Intercultural Programs is seeking host families, couples and individuals for international high school students 15 to 18 years old for the coming school year or semester. Families in Colton, Grand Terrace, Loma Linda, Moreno Valley, Redlands and San Bernardino school districts are invited to host. The students speak English, have medical coverage and spending money and are eager to learn about life in the US and English and will be attending a local public high school. Most students are seniors. Families interested must complete an application, be interviewed by a local volunteer and complete a background check as required by the US government. Students available for hosting are from the following nations: France, Greenland, Italy, Turkey, Sweden, Russia, Serbia, Ghana, Nigeria, Morocco, South Africa, India, Thailand, Japan and China. The students arrive during August. Hosting an exchange student will enrich an American family's life. AFS is starting to celebrate its 2nd 100 years of being an organization. For information about hosting or being an USA exchange student contact AFS at 1-800-AFS-USA or visit the www. afsusa.org. The local program was established in the area in the early 1950s.
