REDLANDS>> Construction was scheduled to began Monday, Nov. 28 on a $278,371 sidewalk repair project and is anticipated to be completed in February 2017, barring any unforeseen conditions. On Sept. 6, 2016, the City Council awarded the contract for the 2016 Sidewalk Repair Project to DM Contracting of Corona. As part of the 2016 Sidewalk Repair Project, damaged and broken sidewalks will be removed and replaced. Areas identified for improvements were chosen based upon an engineered analysis of the condition of the sidewalk as well as its proximity to highly traveled pedestrian destinations such as schools, medical facilities and senior living facilities. A map of identified locations is available online. “No Parking” signs will be posted on streets indicating the dates when work will be occurring and when parking will not be allowed between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Trash collection will occur on normal trash collection days. The 2016 Sidewalk Repair Project was designed and will be managed by the City’s Municipal Utilities and Engineering Department. For more information, contact Treasure Ortiz, public relations coordinator for the Municipal Utilities and Engineering Department at (909) 798-7524, ext. 2, or by email at tortiz@cityofredlands.org.
