Guests enjoyed a laugh and a lesson at Citrus Valley High School last Saturday, as Blackhawk Theatre Company brought Seussical: The Musical to students and their families. The talented actors were given a standing ovation for this last production of the season, which was enjoyed by young and old. The show was a collaboration between the well-received actors, the talented production staff, and the student orchestra, all of which impressed the audience. Janelle Good was Jojo, protagonist of the show, along with Ben Swanson as Horton the elephant. MaKenzie Graham was also a favorite for her captivating role as The Cat in The Hat, and Katie Roche was a lovable Gertrude, who faces unrequited love for Horton. After the play, Ms. Villa recognized the students of the local elementary schools who participated in the play. The kids responded in like, with a gift of flowers for Ms. Villa.
