The thought of swimming, biking and running can be a bit daunting for some, so Better Life Fitness has come up with a new event which accommodates those who want to stay dry and may not have access to a bike or feel comfortable riding one. There will be a whole new way to achieve health goals this year! It’s time to sign up for a fun Dry Triathlon challenge (no swimming or biking) slated for Sunday, February 23 involving a 5K run, boot camp style cardio, and jump roping. Although no prior boot camp experience is needed, it is recommended. This is a great way to start the year right! Hosted by Better Life Fitness, this new local event is structured so that participants can take part in a triathlon that focuses on strength and cardio endurance. Participants are then encouraged to improve another dry triathlon held at the same location a few months later. Each event will have prizes for best male and female, and t-shirts guaranteed for all who register early. This local event is for all local athletes, aspiring athletes, and anyone able to walk 3.1 miles. Participants can have their body fat analyzed and measurements done prior to each event, for an additional fee. Four new events are being offered by Better Life Fitness this year, two in Loma Linda, and two in Redlands. Hulda Crooks Park in Loma Linda will give the participants an opportunity to enjoy a beautiful trail race as part of the dry triathlon, while Brookside Park in Redlands will be the other host park with a 5K race through the surrounding and charming neighborhoods of Redlands. Besides hosting this new event Better Life Fitness also offers boot camp classes in Redlands and San Bernardino, this includes regular boot camp classes and Baby ‘n Mommy Exercise classes. They also offer other services like personal training, nutrition counseling and a world-class disease prevention program known as the Complete Health Improvement Program. The first Dry Triathlon will happen on February 23, 2014 in Hulda Crooks Park in Loma Linda. Check-in is at 7 am; the race begins at 7:30 am. More information about the challenge can be found at www.better-life-fitness.com/2014-dry-triathlons or call Ashleigh Benavides at 909.222.5462 Come and see your fitness level improve by doing a Dry Triathlon!
