The comedy / horror rock musical Little Shop of Horrors opens for a limited, two-weekend run at the Glenn Wallichs Theatre at the University of Redlands Nov. 13, located between Citrus and Colton avenues. Directed by Chris Beach, this production is inspired by the popular low-budget, science fiction satire musical and film about a nerdy florist and a giant, man-eating plant. Music includes 1960s rock and roll, Motown, and doo-wop. The musical production has been in full swing since 1982, and has been adapted into the 1986 film directed by Frank Oz. Because the Little of Shop of Horrors has a simple music score and cast, it has been popular among community, school and amateur groups. As the capstone endeavor of several University theatre arts seniors, the production represents and integration of their work through both theory and practice. To attend this one-of-a-kind event, tickets can be purchased by calling 909-748-8028 or online. General admission is $12, $8 for seniors and students with ID. The show dates include: Nov. 13, 14, 20 at 8 p.m., Nov. 21 at 2 and 8 p.m., and Nov. 22 at 2 p.m.
