A group of patrons and donors who support the Redlands Symphony will hold a first-ever “Purse Party” to benefit the orchestra and its music education programs from 5 PM to 7:30 PM on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at the home of Matt and Jill Jordan in Redlands. The event will feature a selection of new and gently-used purses from well-known designers that will be sold at both silent and live auctions. The live auction will start at 6:30 PM. Shuttle pick-up for the party will be provided from the parking area on Halsey. “We have collected close to 100 wonderful purses for this event,” said Jill Jordan, who will host the party at her home and is a member of the planning committee. “We have been thrilled with the response we’ve had from local people willing to contribute beautiful bags for this unique event to benefit such a good cause.” Handbags from designers like Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors, Tory Burch, Ralph Lauren, Isaac Mizrahi, Kate Spade, Atelier, Brighton, Coach, Gucci and Burberry will highlight the sale. Members of the organizing committee include Nancy Aplin, Ann Bryan, Mary Carruthers, Alexis Glaze, Shirley Harry, Kristin Hopkins, Jill Jordan, Kristin Pierce, Diana Reves and Nancy Spencer.
