REDLANDS >> Contractors for the City will begin construction this month on a water pipeline replacement project at three intersections on Palm Avenue and additional locations in south Redlands. On April 5, the City Council awarded the $155,007 contract for construction of the Palm Avenue Water Pipeline Replacement Project to MCC Pipeline, Inc., of Yucaipa. Construction began the week of May 16 and is expected to be completed in July, however, this is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. The project will install potable water pipeline and water services in preparation for the next PARIS street resurfacing project. Water service will be interrupted during installation of the water lines and services. Customers will be notified 48 hours in advance of any water service interruption. A project map is available on line on the MUED web page at http://cityofredlands.org/sites/default/files/pdfs/MUED/Palm Avenue Water Location Map.pdf The project was designed and will be managed by the City’s Municipal Utilities and Engineering Department. The City will make a concerted effort to minimize disruptions for residents in the project area. “No Parking” signs will be posted on streets indicating the dates when work will occur and when parking will be restricted. Construction will take place Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Access to properties will be available at all times. Residents may direct questions to Treasure Ortiz, community relations coordinator for the Municipal Utilities and Engineering Department, at tortiz@cityofredlands.org or by phone at (909) 798-7524, ext. 2.
