REDLANDS>> On Saturday, April 15, The Redlands Salvation Army Church partnered up with the H.O.P.E Foundation or Helping Others Prosper Economically Foundation, to help ease some of the stress teenagers and their parents face around prom season. The event took place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Salvation Army in Redlands, Church, at 838 Alta Street, Redlands. The event, titled "Fit for a Queen" allowed high school seniors from Redlands High Schools and other Inland Empire High Schools to shop for free prom dresses, suits, shoes, and accessories. The event featured workshops hosted by Miss California, Analizia Lopez, who spoke on etiquette, Salina Wright of Mary Kay Cosmetics, who spoke on basic skin care, and professional make-up artist, Marissa Torres, who spoke on Make-up Techniques. The Redlands Police department also spoke on being safe. Redlands Bouquet Florist also provided free corsages and boutonnieres for students who attended. Keisha Price, who is the owner of Etiquette Tea Parties & Events, transformed the event space to be "Fit for a Queen". Esme's Beauty Salon & Wigs, out of Redlands, donated two hair and two make-up sessions to four lucky students. For more information about the H.O.P.E. Foundation, visit their website at http://www.foundhope2009.org/. For more information about the Redlands Salvation Church, visit their website at http://www.salvationarmyusa.org/.
