Redlands Resident Jeff Johnson to be Inducted into SCPGA Hall of Fame

PGA Member and Redlands resident Jeff Johnson will be inducted in the Southern California Professional Golfers’ Association (SCPGA) Hall of Fame on December 3rd at the Newport Beach Country Club.  Johnson, 64, has been a PGA Member since 1977 and the recipient of Honorary Life Member awards in the Southern California Section and the San Diego and Inland Empire Chapters.  He has also been awarded with the PGA of America’s highest honor, Golf Professional of the Year on 3 occasions, twice in San Diego and also in the Southern California Section. Johnson has also served on the SCPGA Board of Directors for 25 years and 3 years as President.  Johnson began his career at the San Diego Country Club and served as the Head Golf Professional in the 1970’s and moved to Singing Hills Country Club in the 1980’s where he remained until opening Steele Canyon Golf Club in 1990.  He then moved to Redlands in 1998 when he was asked to lead the development of the PGA of Southern California Golf Club, now known as Morongo Golf Club.  At completion and for a decade following, he served as the General Manager of the Moreno Valley Ranch Golf Club.  Johnson currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the PGA of Southern California.  He and his wife Karen and two daughters, Hanna and Melissa, have resided in Redlands for 20 years.
