Light & Power Ministry's Prom Hits the Prairie

Members of the Light & Power ministry at Redlands' Trinity Church recently dressed in their finest and headed to prom. The church's ministry, serving adults with disabilities, has hosted an annual prom event for the last eight years. This year, over 330 attended the April 17 western-themed event, and received free cowboy hats to boot. With a ballroom decorated like a night on the prairie, guests enjoyed a photo booth, a DJ, hours of dancing, snacks, door prizes and a selection of the Royal Court. "A majority of adults affected by disability in the Inland Empire live very isolated lives and don’t have the advantage of being included in experiences that others take for granted," said Light & Power ministry officials. "Hosting an interactive evening where all can meet new friends, find out about other upcoming social events and enjoy such a wonderful time with only a voluntary donation can be the start of a new way of life and it is exciting that Trinity Church is leading the way for these opportunities." If you would like to find out more about Light and Power or any social events being planned for the summer contact Light & Power Ministries at 909-335-7333, extension 141.
