Photo Description:

Making floral arrangements is a very popular and creative ‘artistic’ endeavor. This is the creative orchid design.

“The ‘Art’ of Making Floral Arrangements and More” will be the program presented by the Garden and Floral Arrangers Guild from 9:30 am to 11: 30 am on Saturday, September 6, 2014, in the lower level of the Lodge at Plymouth Village, located at 945 Salem Dr., Redlands. There is no charge and everyone interested in the ‘Art’ of floral arranging is welcome to come and join in. This educational program is just in time for the “Magic of Orchids”, a NGC Plant Society Flower Show presented - for the first time - by the Riverside/San Bernardino County Orchid Society together with the Garden and Floral Arrangers Guild. The Show will be held on September 12 through 14 at Sunshine Growers Nursery located at 34017 Yucaipa Boulevard in Yucaipa. This Show will be filled with outstanding orchid specimens as well as floral designs that feature orchids. Show schedules will be available at this meeting and - if you like - you will also be able to sign up for the Design Division of the Show at this meeting. The “Art” of flower arranging is very ancient. The Dutch, the French, the English and other Europeans as well as the Japanese and the Chinese have practiced this “Art” for thousands of years. Today making floral arrangements is a very popular and creative ‘artistic’ endeavor. The Guild is pleased to offer programs for those who enjoy and want to explore this “Art” - for personal use, Flower Shows and community programs including special program just for our veterans. Come learn arranging tips for line, balance, conditioning, color, texture and more. In addition, special floral arranging “Treasures” will be available to add to you collection at the meeting. Both the Riverside/San Bernardino Counties Orchid Society and the Garden and Floral Arrangers Guild are active members of the California Garden Clubs, Inc., Palms to Pines District and the Pacific Region of National Garden Clubs, Inc.
