Students explore the geography of the world with a map.

On July 19, more than 20 local 5th and 6th graders from Lugonia and Franklin Elementary schools learned about geography in a hands-on kids all-day camp at the University of Redlands. The students explored their neighborhoods, country and world using traditional maps and online computer applications from Esri. To finish the day, the students created a movie that showcased their research of an assigned foreign country. The following faculty members were integral in making the camp possible: Dr. Carol Franklin, Dr. Angela Macias, Dr. Steve Moore as well as staff members Iyan Sandri and Krystal Roberts. The following University of Redlands students also participated and collaborated in the camp: Ronald Mak, Brittany Bryan, Evelyn Terry and Daisy Magãna.
